COMEDK is an annual entrance exam for students who are looking for admissions into the member colleges of Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation and offer medical, engineering and dental undergraduate and post graduate courses. The exam is also the single window for centralized counselling process.

There are 16 medical, 24 dental and 190 engineering colleges participating since the entrance exam was started in 2004-05. COMEDK enables non-Karnataka students to study in the engineering colleges of Karnataka.

Eligibility

B.Tech

  • Appearing/Passed 10+2 exam with minimum 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. (40% for reserved candidates of Karnataka); passed each subject individually
  • Diploma candidates not eligible for COMEDK since no lateral entry is allowed in the course
  • Those appearing for the COMEDK exam will also be considered as an attempt for figuring in the rank list.

B.E.

  • Second PUC or 10+2 or any equivalent exam recognized by the state/central government.
  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English should be a part of the candidate’s syllabus in the last two years.
  • A minimum aggregate of 45% marks for General and 40% for SC | ST | OBC candidates of Karnataka in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects with Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Electronics as one of the optional subjects
  • Diploma candidates not eligible for COMEDK since no lateral entry is allowed in the course
  • Those appearing for COMEDK exam will also be considered as an attempt for figuring in the merit list.
